Icy Conditions? No Problem!

Thanks to my loving wife, who worries endlessly about me (and not without reason), I now have all of the missing pieces for my winter riding kit, plus some rear rack bags to hold everything.
Six inches of perfect 'play in it' snow on Sunday, so I spent much of the day playig with the kids. I worked from home on Monday, so today was the day to try out my new gear.
The bags held everything I thought to bring - change of clothes, extra cold gear (just in case), shoes, gym bag, lock, cable, etc... Had a bit of heel strike, but I'll fix that before I head home.
I commute about six 1/2 miles, and arrived toasty warm from my head to my toes. I'm sure people who drive past me think I'm crazy; I'm not sure they're wrong. But I'm having fun, getting fit, and it's one way to get more time in the saddle while I build up my endurance for the big ride in June.
